Dead sharks found at popular coastal Kimberley tourist spot

“I couldn’t believe people could be so cruel to such beautiful animals, the hammerhead was twisted with its head sticking into the sand, some of them seemed to have gill stab wounds with blood still on them, and some I wondered if they were just left to suffocate to death on the beach,” she said.

“I think there needs to be more protection against fishing in these areas, stricter penalties, and more rangers patrolling the areas to help make sure things like this stop happening.”

Staff members of a local whale watching company told WAtoday there was a lot of dead fish washed up north of Broome on Sunday but hadn’t heard of any sharks.
