COVID face masks now mandatory at all WA airports or travellers risk huge fine

The WA government has announced masks must be worn at all Western Australian airports.
Speaking from Karratha on Wednesday, WA Premier Mark McGowan announced that masks are now mandatory not just on aircraft but inside every airport around the state.
For a lot of interstaters, it’s not a problem – they’ve been wearing masks for weeks, even months.
There are exceptions to the rule.
But for those found to be flouting the mandatory mask requirement, they face fines of up to $50,000.
The decision was made in response to the fast-spreading “mutant” UK strain of the coronavirus, which is understood to be much more infectious.
